A compact Auckland townhouse with awkward functionality, our clients asked for better flow, more natural light penetration, oodles of storage and organised spaces for their young family to grow up with. An L-shaped design hugs existing kitchen bifolds, stretching a little into an office zone behind. Here, bench space is deceptively generous with room enough for a double sink even.
The personal touch of delicately patterned wallpaper facing out to the entrance and dining, continues the fresh colour theme from the kitchen. This is constructed for easy replacement in the future should tastes change or damage occur.
Multiple drawers including several in toekicks, provide organised flexible storage with inserts configured to suit specific items.
A tall dining buffet cabinet with one feature textural door provides overflow storage opposite the kitchen. Sliding doors allow the dining table ample room for people to flow outdoors.
Utilising the generously tall ceilings, a central tall block climbs to the ceiling with open shelving to the living side, imitating existing tall shelving adjacent.
The tall central block also provides storage for pantry overflow or items less used in the kitchen.
A compact Auckland townhouse with awkward functionality, cluttered cabinetry, crowded room and lack of bench space, our clients needed some magic! They desired a better flow, more natural light penetration, oodles of storage and organised spaces for their young family to grow up with.
