Traditional Kitchens

TRADITIONAL KITCHENS are gracious and inviting, or luxurious and noble. They consistently reflect the period that the design represents, often using details from the villa or bungalow home in which they dwell. A traditional kitchen evokes images of understated elegance and offers the warmth, welcome and classic comfort many remember from childhood homes. Honouring the time, there tend to be rich wood tones, conservative colour palettes, natural real materials like timber, brass, marble and granite, tiled splash-backs, ornate decorative details and chunky open shelving or glass doors. The complexity of detailing usually demands the craftsmanship of old-school manufacturing techniques. Freestanding stoves (ranges), timber surfaces, corbels, pretty embellishments and posts are often utilised. Within the traditional designation you'll find many specific styles, such as classic, colonial, Industrial, Victorian, Arts & Crafts, French Country, Hollywood glamour and English cottage.
